Planning a flight with your e-cigarette? Here's what you need to know!

If you're planning a flight and have an e-cigarette or vape to bring with you, don't worry. You can likely bring it with you with a bit of preparation!
It is important that you look up the laws of wherever you are travelling to. While most locations do not have a problem with e-cigarettes, some countries have made them illegal, which means they will be confiscated when you arrive.
When flying with e-cigarettes, you will want to keep anything with a battery in your carry on luggage (like all other electronics) - and always store your batteries properly. Battery cases for external (removable) batteries are the best, and safest, way to do this. If you don’t have a battery case, put each battery into an individual bag to ensure they cannot touch anything else or each other. If you have a disposable, mod, or any device with a built in (non-removable) battery, it will be fine as is.
When flying with e-liquid, the same liquid limits and rules apply as any other liquids on your carry on - 100ml per bottle is generally the limit. Store any larger bottles in your checked luggage, and only take what you absolutely need with you on your carry on, in their original packaging. Like any other liquids, you must bag them into a plastic bag with a zipper seal.
You are free to bring any other accessories on your carry on - with the exception of any sharp objects. If you have a tank filled with e-liquid, make sure you empty it first to avoid leaking. If you don’t want to empty your tank, you can store it upside down to help minimize leakage. You will also want to store any tanks or e-liquid in a well sealed plastic bag, this way any e-liquid that does leak will be contained.
Tanks and other accessories without batteries can be put into your checked luggage without issue. If you have any e-liquid in your tanks, you will want to empty them to avoid leaking. You will also want to store any tanks or e-liquid in a well sealed plastic bag or container, this way any e-liquid that does leak will be contained.
Above all, be honest about what you have with you when asked. E-cigarettes are popular enough now, airport security will likely be familiar with what they are. They are there to help you and keep you safe. If you have a question about how or where to store items, they will likely be able to help.
Have a good flight!
